Budget and Schedule

This project was started with the idea that a you can produce a prosthetic hand with limited resources for cheaper then currently available items. Using the resources on hand the project for the articulation section costed out to under $300 for the articulation parts. Combined with the ability to produce most of the parts using additive manufacturing processes we can keep the cost below $500.

Included on the page is the up to date cost spread sheet for the articulation section. Some parts are have a calculated cost due to the use of a 3D printer in the production process. Some of these costs could rise or fall due to the type of printing or material used in production. The cost for those parts assumes that they are being built on a standard 3D printer and using ABS type material.

After deciding on a on this project it was necessary to produce a production schedule. The group attempted to come up with a realistic time line for design and production. Included in the schedule is the ordering of parts and an attempt at realistically calculating time for redesign and part changes.

This schedule includes production times and a production schedule including specifics for each part to be produced.
